The Science Behind Your Security
How we keep your health records private yet accessible
Your data is always encrypted.
Every medical record you upload is automatically scrambled and can only be unscrambled by you.
You control access to your data.
Even our team cannot see your medical records - only you have the key to unlock them.
Creating Your Unique Security Key
Think of it like a special lockbox for your medical data. You get two keys - one stays with you, the other helps lock your information.
When you first use Hemolog, your mobile device creates a unique security key that stays securely stored on your phone. This key is like your personal password that only you know. It works with a public key that helps lock your data. Only your personal key can unlock it later.
Uploading Your Medical Records
When you take a photo or upload a health record, it's immediately scrambled using your public key. The data becomes unreadable to anyone without your personal key – even to us.
This means your sensitive medical information stays private while stored on our secure servers. Nobody can read the actual content of your records without your personal key.
Accessing Your Secure Records
When you need to view your health records, your personal key automatically unscrambles the data, making it readable again – but only for you.
You can securely share specific records with doctors by creating special time-limited, password-protected links. You control who sees what and for how long.
Your Backup Plan: The Recovery Phrase
Even the best security systems need a backup plan. That's why we give you a set of random words called a Recovery Phrase. This acts as your emergency key to restore access to your medical records.
Write these words down somewhere safe and secure, or save them in your phone's secure notes. If your security key is ever lost, these words are your only way to regenerate it and regain access to your medical history.
